Highrock North Shore!

Thanks for checking us out. My name is Aaron and I’m the planting pastor for Highrock North Shore. Whenever we plant Highrock churches, we do so because of a singularly shared vision: that radically local, accessible, Christian community, not only transforms people, but whole cities. It’s a bold vision, really, but one that has given us years of life and joy together in community.

And while Christians are willing to make an hour drive just to get a taste of this kind of Church, those who don’t yet know the radical, life changing love of Jesus found in Christian Community, won’t. And this breaks my heart. Because I know—I mean, for the last four years I’ve lived—this very dream of having my neighbors literally be my church.

We’ve weathered hurricanes together, played hockey on Spy Pond before work together, and ate pie made from the very berries we picked earlier that day, together. We’ve gone on café runs at all hours of the night and erupted in spontaneous snowball fights. We’ve fought together, cried together, prayed together, laughed together, celebrated baptisms together. In short, over the last four years we’ve lived out our Love for God, together in community. And it’s been awesome.

And because I know how good this kind of community is, because I know how disarming this kind of community can be, from the tips of my toes to the top of my head I want to follow the Lord and see this vision of Christ lived out in Community on the North Shore of Boston.

And so, just like in May of 1999, when a small group of believers gathered together to reflect and pray at a small suburban home in Needham on a street called High Rock, this last summer a small group of Highrockers began to pray to earnestly seek how we can together, bring this same vision of Christ lived out in Community to the North Shore.

In the book of Isaiah, (Isaiah 57:14) God gives a vision to his followers to remove every obstacle from our neighbor’s way in their path to meeting God.  And we really believe that this vision of love found in community does just that: it removes obstacles from the way of people meeting our great God.

Already in just the few short months of meeting together we’re having a ton of fun eating, praying and building relationships with each other. And already, a beautiful new community of believers is beginning to take shape.

God has been at work both at Highrock and on the North Shore for a while now. And we don’t want to hoard all the fun and have you to miss out on all the action.

If you’re interested in learning more about how you can partner with what God is doing up on the North Shore, I’d love to connect with you!
